Davidge’s response unpersuasive by Friends of the Gualala River

Although Friends of the Gualala River (FoGR) appreciates the efforts Ric Davidge has made in responding to the questions from The Sea Ranch Forum of March 16, upon preliminary review, it finds his answers unpersuasive.

Mr. Davidge asserts, without scientific backup, that his scheme will have no environmental impacts. FoGR does not believe this and calls upon the State Water Resources Control Board to order a full Environmental Impact Study supervised and conducted by the appropriate State or Federal agency.

Mr. Davidge has refused to provide the details of the engineering works his scheme requires. It appears that he wants the community to acquiesce to his scheme in the abstract, and then he will use the community as unpaid consultants to help him make the scheme a reality.

Mr. Davidge has made one substantive change in the scheme. He would position the mooring station south of Whale Watch Point so that his tug operations would be hidden from the town of Gualala. They would, however, be in full view of the popular bluff trail of Gualala Point Regional Park and the north end of The Sea Ranch.
