FoGR sponsors Art in the Redwoods Festival award

Friends of the Gualala River (FoGR) sponsored an award at the Art in the Redwoods festival in 2007, for the sixth year in a row. A cash prize of $100 contributed by the Friends of the Gualala River was given to the artist who best captured the ecology of the Gualala River watershed.Congratulations to local artist Bruce Jones for his award-winning watercolor painting “The Yellow Hat,” painted on the North Fork, which won the Environmental Award sponsored by Friends of the Gualala River.

The 46th annual Art in the Redwoods festival took place on Saturday, August 18 and Sunday, August 19, 2007, and featured over 400 fine art entries.

The art exhibit is on display at the Gualala Arts Center through September 2. There is no charge to see the exhibit, which is open to the public from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. weekdays, and from 12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m. on weekends.
